This book was my COVID project.
As a child, some of my earliest and fondest memories are of my dad reading to me from a grade school reader. Then, as a young father, I have warm memories of reading to our son. Every night at bedtime, I read various nursery rhymes to him. His favorite, and mine, was the poem, “Wynken, Blynken, and Nod”.
As I wrote these potato poems, I fondly remembered our son as a toddler. I wanted to create children’s poetry which could be read to children at playtime or bedtime, and which children could read and enjoy on their own once they learned to read. My hope is that by reading to the children you will form a loving bond together and that you will instill a love of reading in the child. Reading is the foundation of much other learning. As No! I Never Dream of Being a Potato was published along with two companion colouring books. Please have a look and share with anyone who has children between ages 2 and 8 years old.
Stay safe my friends,
Gerald
